FTI Drum Pump Maintenance Precautions

FTI Drum Pump Maintenance Precautions

1. Drum pumps require regular inspection and maintenance. Portable drum pumps require regular

inspection and maintenance. Check the power cord, internal wiring, plug, and switch to ensure they

are in good condition, ensure the insulation resistance is normal, check whether the brush tailstock

is loose, ensure good contact between the commutator and brushes, check whether the armature

windings and stator windings are properly open, and check for damage to bearings and rotating parts.

2. Store portable drum pumps in a dry, clean environment free of corrosive gases.

3. Grease the pumps regularly. FTI drum pumps operate at high speeds, and grease evaporates easily.

Therefore, the grease in the bearings must be kept clean and regularly replenished.

4. Pay attention to the insulation resistance of pneumatic drum pumps. For electric pumps that have

been unused for an extended period or are used in a humid environment, measure the winding insulation

resistance with a 500-volt megohmmeter before use. If the insulation resistance between the winding

and the motor housing is less than 7 megohms, the windings must be dried.

5. Keep each part well and replace the same parts. When disassembling and inspecting the electric oil

pump, keep each part well. Pay special attention to the explosion-proof surface of the explosion-proof

parts. Do not damage or roughen them, including the insulating gasket and the casing. If damaged, they

must be replaced with new, identical parts. Do not use substitute materials with performance lower than

that of the original materials or parts that do not meet the original specifications. When assembling, all

parts should be installed in their original positions without omission.
