How to perform regular maintenance on sewage pumps
How to Perform Regular Maintenance on a Sewage Pump
1. After multiple uses, the sewage pump must be run in clean water for several minutes to
prevent sediment buildup in the pump chamber, which can affect its normal operation.
2. Regularly check the insulation resistance between phases and between the pump motor
and ground. The value should be greater than 2MΩ. If not, disassemble and repair the pump
(dry it). Also check the grounding for a secure connection.
3. The gap between the impeller and the tearing mechanism (base cover plate) should be 0.3~0.5mm.
After prolonged use in the medium, this gap may increase due to wear. Adjust it as follows: Disconnect
the power, loosen the fixing screws, and rotate the cover plate to a suitable angle to restore the original gap.
4. If the sewage pump malfunctions and the cause cannot be determined, and the troubleshooting
methods provided below fail to resolve the issue, please do not attempt temporary fixes or attempt
unauthorized repairs. Contact our maintenance department immediately. We will provide the fastest
and best service to resolve your problem.
5. After six months of use with the specified medium, the oil chamber seal of the sewage pump should
be checked, and the oil should be changed to #10 to #30. If necessary, the mechanical seal should be
replaced. Sewage pumps used under harsh working conditions should be regularly inspected. The oil
change method is as follows: Place the pump with the oil chamber plug (located inside the outlet) facing
down, drain the lubricating oil, then clean the oil chamber with washing oil, refill with an appropriate
amount of oil (70%–80%), replace the O-ring, and tighten the plug. If water (milky emulsion) is found in
the waste oil, clean the oil chamber as required and refill with oil. A re-inspection must be performed
after three weeks of use. If the lubricating oil is found to have turned into an emulsion again, the mechanical
seal should be checked and replaced if necessary (contact our maintenance department). If replacement is
possible on-site, an airtightness test (air pressure 0.5 kg/cm²) should be performed after replacing the seal.
