DESMI Rotan Gear Pump Frequently Asked Questions
Are the ROTAN® pumps the same size as other competing brands?
not necessarily. If the product of a competing brand is a copy of ROTAN®, we can
provide "authentic". In addition, the space left by the original pump will be very
close to the size of the genuine ROTAN® pump, so that our pump can be installed
in the original pump position very "just right", so that the current equipment installation
position can be continued to be used.
Are ROTAN® accessories available for use with other brands of pumps?
No, the accessories of ROTAN® pumps are not interchangeable with pumps of other
brands. Unless another brand of pump is "cloned" the ROTAN® pump design.
What is the direction of the pump?
The working direction of all ROTAN® pumps is bidirectional and depends on the
direction of the driving motor when used. Looking at the tail of the pump shaft, if it
is running clockwise, it is right-to-left-out, and vice versa. When necessary, the bypass
valve needs to be adjusted, so the part contains a spring on the side close to the suction port.
Are ROTAN® pumps self-priming?
Yes, ROTAN® has excellent self-priming capabilities. When the pump needs to operate
under low suction conditions, it is usually necessary to calculate the NPSH data during
the selection process to obtain a suitable solution.
How long can the ROTAN® pump last?
This depends to a large extent on the working environment of the pump and the configuration
of the pump that was initially selected. According to market feedback, the ROTAN® pump
can have a maintenance-free service life of up to 30 years when used to convey media such
as lubricant. On the other hand, some pumps have relatively difficult operating conditions
(i.e., in high pressure environments containing more particles), and these pumps often
require a thorough overhaul every few weeks.
What is the maximum pressure?
Re-examination is determined by multiple parameters. Generally speaking, ROTAN® pumps
can withstand system pressures up to 500 PSI and differential pressures of 300 PSI.
